San Jose del Cabo, Mexico, is our go to getaway spot for a warm, relaxing holiday. The never failing warmth of the sun, golden beaches, and charming old town brimming with art studios and lively restaurants keep us coming back for more.

Last month we traveled to San Jose del Cabo in Baja Mexico for a winter getaway. We arrived in time to check in and catch this majestic sunset over the water as we dined poolside.

It happened to be both Valentine’s Day and a full moon-double trouble ;). I snapped this wedding party happening right next to our table. A magnificent night for a wedding on the beach with a pink sea.

For this trip we stayed at the luxurious boutique style Grand Mayan Resort on the beach in
San Jose del Cabo.

The Grand Mayan brand is known for thoughtfully creating relaxing and intimate spaces,  luxurious amenities, great service and attention to detail, all wrapped up in a chic Mexican vibe.

They’ve positioned loungers and daybeds galore for napping.

Sensory experiences of water, fire, color and light enhance your stay

as does the natural beauty like this sunrise from our suite.

A massage at the spa is a must to get us relaxed and in the mood for vacation. I recommend the massage on day two.

Whenever we wait until later in the trip for a massage we wonder why we didn’t book it sooner.  Pure R and R.

Come with me to one of our favorite places anywhere………….

La Panga Antigua in San Jose del Cabo on my Instagram.

La Panga Antigua is a magical place…the service, the food, that romantic patio.

At night it positively sparkles and they spoil us with delicacies every time we visit.

San Jose del Cabo reveals a charming old town, centered around the church and town square, filled with

bustling boutiques, art galleries, studios and delicious bites.

This balloon man was a fun sighting. I wonder where he was heading?

 Scott Grand Mayan

My blogger friend, Shelly from Lush Life, deemed this my ‘La Panga Antigua‘ photo of Scott on Instagram.

My thoughts exactly…..

We were lovin’ life by day 3.

More beauty around the resort.

With so many fabulous photo ops it was hard to choose.

I have never been but it sure does look fabulous.

We used to visit Mexico often but I’m against going there due to the violence and poor way they have responded to Canadians in the past. About 6 Canadians have died there over the past couple of years and nothing seems to have been done to find the killers. I’ve lost faith in them. Shame because it is gorgeous.

What a gorgeous spot. You have a gift for photography! Love the balloon man. I’m envious of anyone surrounded by warmth and colour (blogging from ski country: must say I’m a little done with winter here!!)

HEATHER! I am so late for this glorious post! I had to run off early yesterday to school and I missed everyone’s new posts! OK, I am loving all the photos, but the one of you in that yellow and turquoise photo..SWOON! TAKE ME NOW, girl….I need some warmth, and what better place than the land of my father’s birth.

Thank you for always sharing joy. Your travels, your outlook on life and your husband’s sweet presence always make me smile.

YES! I am finally writing as a freelance writer! I am so thrilled. More to come in June with varied ages and styles.

Much love to you, Heather! Anita

Hi Heather, great blog and I always enjoy your posts! I love Cabo as well and I will be there in May with 3 of my favorite gal pals for a ladies wknd away! Every May we do something and for the last three years we have gone to Cabo. We typically stay along the corridor closer to Cabo San Lucas. We love going to Edith’s for dinner and the Hacienda Cocina Cantina. We are planning to try Bar Esquina at the Bahia Hotel this time and we would love to try Flora’s Field Kitchen, which is closer to where you stay in San Jose. Have you tried Flora’s? The reviews are great. I love the beauty of Cabo and it makes for a great romantic getaway or a fun getaway with the ladies. I live on the SF peninsula so I love the relatively short flight. It looks like you had a great time……your pics were beautiful and I love the one of you and your husband! Thanks for getting me jazzed for my upcoming trip! Keep up the good work!

Welcome to Stylemindchic! So happy to hear you enjoy the blog. Your upcoming trip sounds like so much fun. I love Los Cabos for the very same reasons-such an easy get from California and so beautiful. We often stay in the corridor-endless beaches. I love that you mentioned Flora’s Kitchen!! We spent an evening there that was so fantastic-I’m reserving those photos for a full post to come. Magical-it’s a must for your trip. The food was so fresh and fantastic. Arrive in time to take the little tour. Keep an eye out for big celebs-George Clooney, Maroon 5 and Cindy Crawford was there earlier in the week.
Do I know you? Would love to follow your blog or on email. Can’t wait to hear about your trip!!

Oh…I wasn’t clear…I sent the link to your post from your trip to SFO last fall. I know that it was with girlfriends,,,if you have any suggestions for romantic places for a couple in their early 30’s, I would love to hear them. Sadly, I haven’t been to San Francisco for over 25 years.

Hello lovely friend! Thank you for the kind comments. How fun that your daughter and son in law will be traveling to SF. That should be a beautiful time in the city. There are so many fabulous places-we girls loved the Hotel Monaco and they spoiled us completely. My husband and I love the Hotel Adagio (just across the street and up a block). It’s sleek and luxurious in a perfect location. Otherwise for some iconic SF glamour they could hit the Fairmont or Mark Hopkins on Nob Hill. Fun! Fun!

Hello sweet Heather!

I have been catching up with you!

How awesome were you to get up from your flu bed to dawn those nude leather over the knee boots for your stylin’ girlfriends!

What a beautiful place you share from here today! I can feel the warmth, the luxury and ocean breeze from here!

My daughter and son in law are planning a trip to SFO in May! I sent a link to your post! You know how to travel, my friend!
