I love a rooftop terrace in the summer. Give me a captivating view, a sultry breeze, the glow of sunset, twinkling lights and I’m in my sweet spot.Throw in a pool and I could live there. There is something just plain sexy about the whole vibe.
Perfection in a rooftop terrace at the EME Catedral Hotel in Seville, Spain.
The rooftop terrace at Andaz Hollywood looks like one to put on the list of places to see.
Over the years Scott and I have discovered a few favorite rooftop terraces. This one, at the ‘B’ Hotel in Barcelona, was a much needed respite in a busy travel schedule in 2006. We lounged like lizards for hours with a chilled bottle of rose’ and enjoyed the city views.
The rooftop at the Hudson in New York City is another favorite. The sparkling city views from here are magical.
We fell in love with rooftop terraces at the San Juan Water and Beach Club Hotel, San Juan Puerto Rico, and the tropical views.
I have such an affinity for these open air spaces that I seem to have planned our summer vacation with an itinerary filled with rooftop terraces. This image is of the Vintage Lisboa Hotel in Lisbon, Portugal, and our first destination. (I hope Scott reserved the full moon to go with it!)
The Fontecruz, in Seville, Spain, has a modern edge with an old world view. I always enjoy this contrast in styles.
This chic space is at the H10 Port Vell with beautiful marina views, in Barcelona, and will be the final stop on our trip to Portugal and Spain.
It’s not a rooftop but this is our terrace. Maybe it’s why I’m so enamored by a rooftop terrace when we travel. If you are traveling this summer, or planning a day trip to your nearest city, I recommend searching for a rooftop terrace. I think you’ll enjoy the summertime vibe as much as I do.
