Prepping, parties and packing for Paris!

It’s an especially busy holiday season in the Lindstrom house this year.  There is all the usual decorating, shopping, gifting, entertaining, and party planning hubbub. This year I added keeping up with business at my online Stylemindchic Boutique (our first holiday season!), consulting on a makeover/style session with our local magazine, Upgraded Living (super fun!), as well as planning and packing for the holidays in London and Paris this year. My husband and I will be traveling with my mom, Jeri, sister Heidi, and her teenage sons Jordan and Jared. We are super excited about this family trip. I have been to London during the holidays but never Paris. It is sure to be simply sparkling during the holidays. To be sure I will be adding an update to my  Getaway Guide Paris here. The temps are looking to be in the 30’s and 40’s.  We may have sun, rain or snow…..no matter….bring it on-it’s Christmas in Paris after all!

In light of the trip planning, and packing for such a festive time, I want to be prepared and have all of my essentials.  I created a packing board using my favorite online style website, Shop-Style. It’s my go to site to find anything fashion or home related (Click the links on the spread below for links to retailers). Since we will be traveling during the holidays, I definitely added some extra touches of sparkle here and there.

My best travel packing tip is to have a scarf with you at all times, in both summer and winter months.  It comes in handy on the plane, if the air is chilly, you need a pillow or you need to cover your eyes to sleep.  In winter I say definitely go cashmere for warmth.

Yay for Paris! How exciting!
You will have to fill us in on what you wore the most when you get back. We are going to Paris next March. We’ve always gone in October before when the weather is comfortable and I am worried I won’t have clothes warm enough to handle the cold! You know we California women don’t usually have heavy coats in our closets!

Bon Voyage!

Hello Adrienne,
Ahhhh, Paris! I know it’s a favorite for both of us. I agree, we Californians have to work a little harder to find the right warm clothes for such a trip. I was reminded by LouLou above to pack a warm, wooly hat….sounds essential! I’ll keep you posted on what works.
Wishing you and yours a merry season together.
Cheers, xx Heather

A packing board — great idea. Have never done that.

I would add two more things to your packing list…warm boots and a warm, wooly hat! :)
Have a wonderful trip and enjoy Paris at one of its most beautiful times of the year. I’ll be there too…cat sitting for a friend. Happy holidays!

Hello Loulou (aka Jennifer;),
What a treat to have you stop by my blog today! I have followed Loulou for a long time and you have such a lovely blog. The warm, wooly hat and warm boots are a must. Thanks for the reminder on the hat! We are excited about this trip and seeing the beauty of Paris during the holidays. I’ll keep an eye out-maybe we will run into each other in a cafe somewhere.
