Welcome to the Weekend…and new favorites!

During the tail end of my summer off each year I find myself reworking my closet and getting rid of unwanted items. I used to have a fairly elaborate system for deciding whether or not to keep a piece in my wardrobe here yet at this stage of life I’ve refined my process even more. This is not a novel concept, but it’s works for me. If I pick up clothing, shoes, accessories and don’t feel the love, out it goes and is donated to someone who will appreciate it. Simple….. It feels so good to pare down, doesn’t it? I collected a huge bag of donation items last weekend and already my closet feels lighter and brighter–with more room for new favorites.

I have a couple of new favorite pairs of shoes. They are well-priced, stylish, and I just realized they are made by the same designer, Franco Sarto. His shoes have been a go to for me for a number of years. When I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area, I frequented the Franco Sarto boutique. Now I order online as I did with these.

These are the ‘Filigree’ wedge in the concrete shade. I’ve always appreciated the ease and comfort of wearing a wedge. These are my new favorites and perfect for transitioning into cooler temperatures. I wore these out to a delicious belated birthday dinner at Sopa Thai  in Yuba City with family. We had so much fun, and my shoes were comfortable for walking around town.

I also bought these Franco Sarto ‘Grip’ sandals ice last spring and wore them constantly during the summer. Zappos has them in a number of pretty shades. The perfect summer sandal (click photo for link).

Heather,
I hope you had an amazing weekend, ours was very pleasant, we even welcomed a random rain shower! Love this color- concrete. Reminds me of a darker hue of some boots I have been eyeing. Your closet is organized and I am looking forward to having a roomy closet again! They mean so much to us ladies!
Have a lovely week!

I so agree-the large closet was a real bonus for us in this home. I’m glad you enjoyed your weekend, dear Jemma. Rain? I’m so ready for a little coolness and some rain drops-especially now that I’m back at work. :)

Love your taste in shoes, Heather! My faves are the ones in concrete. They go with everything.

They absolutely do, Katie. Isn’t it fun to find an item so versatile? xx

Have you heard of the KonMari method? I’ll be writing about it on my blog soon. Basic premise is same as yours: keep only what you love. The process begins in your closet but can change your life. (It did mine!)
Enjoy these last weekends of summer. Love the graphic.

Ahhh thank you, Doreen. I’ve heard a bit about the method-but regret to have not read much about it. I’ll be looking forward to your post.

Heather, Hope you had a lovely weekend! Your closet looks great. I am just starting my fall clean out too. I agree if you don’t feel the love throw it out! (Well, donate, etc.) The Franco Sarto wedges are so pretty on you. I love that brand as well. I think the grey is terrific for transitioning to fall. I’m really liking grey right now. Hope school is going well and you are easing into the year. I’m going to check out these links when I get a chance! xoxo Kim

Those wedges are fantastic! I think Macy’s carries Franco Sarto. I know I’ve had a few of his designs.

You look lovely as always!

Ahhhh thanks dear Jane. Yes, I do think Franco Sarto is available at Macys–if only I had one close to where I live now. ;)

Good morning, Beautiful! I love your shoes and the color taupe is one of my favorites, elongating the legs, making our steps delicate but yet determined to get to where we are GOING! I cleaned out my closet during the school year and I have my clothing in right order. I am ready! Have a sensational Sunday! Anita

wow, those grey shoes are cool, Heather. I can’t wear that high of heels any more, but I don’t mind cause I’m pretty tall as it is. Your closet looks so organized. That’s one of the things I wanted most when we bought our home – a BIG walk-in closet. You have an assortment of colors with your clothes, and whatever you wear, you look radiant.

I hope the school year is off to a good start.

love, ~Sheri

I hope you got a big walk-in closet in your new home, Sheri. Our closet is very well-sized. It was one of the things that sold me on the house (along with the view). Thanks for the kind words-my year is super busy so far but going well.
Have a fantastic week!
