A Midsummer Night’s Dream

San Sebastian, Spain, Night

A midsummer night’s dream from San Sebastian, Spain, on my birthday

We’re back!! It’s hard to believe that our 18 day European vacation is already over. Scott and I returned with suitcases brimming with laundry (a sign of good packing) and a camera bursting with more than a thousand colorful photos of the beauty we experienced. I love the adventure of travel and it always feels good to come home again. I’ve finished 9 loads of laundry and we are starting to readjust to the time zone changes. I always find the second day back to be more exhausting than the first day, in dealing with a 9 hour time change. It’s a midsummer night’s dream, if you can actually sleep. When that 3 am wake up call hit yesterday I decided to make my time count by creating this memory of our time in Algarve, Portugal.

Umbrellas on the beach in Albuferia

Aren’t these umbrellas fun? I used the ‘Waterlogue‘ app on my iPhone.

It’s easier to use bedside than watercolor paint to be sure.

During our vacation I was reminded how small this ‘big old world’ really is these days. I snapped my outfit accessories, on Instagram, while waiting for Scott to head out for dinner. A few minutes later, while drinking sangria at a small cafe in Sevilla, I received a notice on Instagram that a long time style crush of mine,Trina Turk, had ‘hearted’ the photo of me wearing a bracelet from her collection. It’s such a small world sometimes. On a separate note, I also wore my bracelets from Tamera Beardsley Design, another style crush and my friend, almost everyday of the trip. They are so beautiful.

As I gather my photos and fold my laundry I wanted to say a quick hello and thank you for following along on our journey. I look forward to posting more on each beautiful place we visited in Portugal and Spain. In the mean time, I caught this fun link to the ever so stylish Aerin Lauder and her summer tips.

This week I’m joining the lovely Anita Riviera on her Castles, Crowns and Cottages ‘Simply Irresistible’ link party. Stop by her blog and take a peek at the array of intriguing European journeys. I promise it will be the perfect armchair escape in every sense of the word. Thank you dear Anita for hosting again this year.

Finally, thank you all for the lovely birthday wishes, they warmed my heart all the way to San Sebastian, Spain, where I enjoyed a memorable day with Scott. I am in awe of how my world has grown through blogging, and I now have beautiful, creative and inspiring friends from around the world. Thank you for sharing your kindness and your heart with me.
