Happy New Year!
It’s time for holiday cheer and wishes for a happy new year.
The holidays flew by, didn’t they?
Our holidays were filled with merriment, festivities, and maybe a few too many indulgences here and there. Do you feel like you’ve had your fill of holiday cheer, like I do?
I took a short blogging/social media break to thoroughly enjoy the holidays with my family. These are just a few of our holiday highlights as we ease into the new year.
Scott and I enjoyed our second annual “Champagne and Wrap” party for two. (It helps get the job done!) I spotted the easiest appetizer on pinterest: spiced pecans stuffed with gorgonzola or blue cheese. Place a dab of cheese between two pecan halves and press together. It couldn’t be more simple or delicious!
We love having Scott’s girls for the holidays–they make life quite merry!
The girls enjoyed their surprise gift of a trip to San Francisco and tickets to the play, “A Christmas Carol”. I have no explanation for Scott’s “Ugly Sweater”. Let’s just say he won a prize at the office this season.
We hosted the Lindstrom family Christmas and Christmas dinner this year. Even Scott’s 91-year-old dad was able to join us.
Our holidays “part 2” were in Lincoln at my mom’s and step-father’s home.
Mom always sets such a beautiful table. This year she added vibrant red roses and monogrammed initial stockings for each of us, stuffed with gift cards and a travel candle.
We ended our evening by opening gifts at my sister, Heidi’s, beautiful home. Her house is always so pretty. Heidi and her family cut this tree down together over Thanksgiving. Aren’t her new holiday plates from Pottery Barn darling?
Our holidays ended with a New Year’s eve bash with our neighbors this year. This was definitely a festive way to ring in 2016!
And with that, it’s on to the fresh new year and clearing the clutter.
Are you excited about all the possibilities of the new year like I am?
Happy 2016 to you and yours!!
