It’s happening this weekend and George Clooney is marrying Amal Alamuddin, in Venice, Italy. He’s our modern-day movie star, our charming, self-deprecating, seemingly accessible, tall dark and handsome fantasy man. For some of us, he’s our ‘back burner’ guy (break glass in case of heartbreak!) and the guy that makes women, and a few men, all around the world swoon. Venice is gearing up to host the festivities and I can’t imagine a more perfect backdrop.
Venice 2003 Stylemindchic
The first time I visited Venice, with my husband in 2003, the beauty was astonishing.
For romance, beauty, privacy, and old world charm Venice is the perfect choice for a grand wedding
and I would expect no less from George Clooney.
For a look at some of the wedding venues for the weekend here.
I’ve had some thoughts about George Clooney over the years (who hasn’t?),
mainly because we are almost exactly the same age and at the same stage in life.
I’ve kept an eye out, in a ‘familial’ way for mi amigo.
Letter to George Clooney on his engagement
I haven’t yet received my wedding invitation, but I’m sure it’s in the mail.
I’ve got my ‘+ 1’ all picked out and he loves Venice just as I do.
1000 times I say “I DO!!!!”
What I mean to say is ~
Best wishes on your marriage George!
We will watch, we may cry, and we will say (with a collective sigh) “goodbye” to our ‘back burner’ guy!
Will you be sneaking a peek like I will?
Full disclosure, my husband, Scott, loves my George Clooney posts.
(I tell him he reminds me of George Clooney, so it’s fun all the way around;)
