Date Night at 7 Seas Los Cabos-Surf’s Up!

Every now and then Scott and I stumble onto a surreal experience during our travels. This was one of those times. It was the final evening of our trip to Los Cabos, and our tradition is to do something celebratory on our last night.  I tend to follow my gut instinct when making plans and when I learned of 7 Seas, with a description so intriguing, I just knew this was the place.

Arriving at the Cabo Surf Hotel is a bit like a journey back in time.

It felt nostalgic—in a good way.

The 7 Seas Seafood Grille is located at the heart of the hotel, overlooking the beach.

The view from our table took our breath away…

just a bit.

My favorite traveling companion/husband/Scott was very pleased with my choice for dinner.

Scott selected the ‘Surprise Me Chef’ with a slice of tuna so thick it was reminiscent a steak.

I ordered the ‘Lemon Caper Fish’ which which light, fresh and flavorful.

Eduardo, Sylvia, Freddie and Ivan spoiled us with friendly, yet impeccable service, and the freshest of seafood delicacies.

It was also the quality of the light, the gentle waves lapping on the beach,

and watching the surfers, who seemed somehow from a different time.

#throwbackthursday

If you are in Los Cabos (San Jose del Cabo or Cabo San Lucas) I highly recommend dinner out at

7 Seas Seafood Grille and a stay at the Cabo Surf Hotel. It’s fun for families as well as a romantic dinner by the sea.

Oh my Gosh, Heather – beautiful and inspiring…reminds me (in a small beach shack kind of way) of our reunion a few years back in Cayucos – the wine pic definitely “took me there!” – Look forward to seeing you, and sharing more wine, in May! – Gretchen

How fun to see your name pop up in my comments, Gretchen! Isn’t this just a throw back beach vibe? I remember our trip to your “beach shack” a few years ago and it was more than fabulous. Looking forward to May and cheers to more celebrations! xx

Heather, I enjoyed this post very much, and it got to me right away because my husband and son are surfers. The restaurant you ate at looks very nice, and the view from your table is spectacular. My husband surfed at “rippers” which is this exact same spot. What a lovely time you must have had with Scott, and such a cute picture of both of you. Every time I see your posts, it takes me to another world. Thanks for the journey, Heather.

Heather, your photos are so lovely! I can imagine how magical it was enjoying the sunset. I’m reminded of a vacation we took to Cabo many years ago and stayed at Twin Dolphins Hotel. I understand that hotel is no longer there, but I have the memories. Loved the photo of you and Scott, and you two are so photogenic! xx Karen

Hi Heather, this restaurant and resort look beautiful. I am making a note of it. I do love Mexico, I cannot wait to go back again!
Have to say, love that pic of you – the purse is great, black and white – is it new or a favourite standby. I must admit to a thing with clutches. Wonderful pic of both of you, tanned and laughing, it does one good just to see it. enjoy the rest of your week! xx Nancy

I have a thing for clutches too, Jen! We have soooo much in common ;) This is one I picked up a year ago at Banana Republic. It seems to fit my style for a night out….always plays well with a LBD! Definitely put this spot on your list. It is quintessential Cabo in the surf. You would LOVE it! Thanks for your email!
