Beauty Edit: Late Summer

Beauty Edit: Late Summer

It’s that time of year again when my summertime skin starts to feel dull and lifeless. Are you feeling it too? I have discovered a few beauty must-haves that I’m using to keep that sun-kissed summer glow in my skin.

For lips, the Rosebud Salve is a lifesaver in my nightstand. I’m using Naked Skin from Urban Decay as a silky foundation and it feels as though it’s infused with serum. The coverage is blendable and it feels good on my skin.

Michael Kors fragrance is a longtime favorite of mine. This season he added a line of beauty products and this glowing nude in ‘Diva’ is sheer enough for anytime wear.

Peter Thomas Roth Mega Rich body lotion is a skin drenching formula and the scent reminds me of a vacation in Mexico, where I was first introduced to the line. Loreal has the new Privee Collection and I’m using ‘Julianne’s Nude’, a rosy nude in a creamy matte formula.

NARS Body Glow creates a lustrous, glistening glow. It’s made from coconut oil and extract from the Tiare flower. It’s scent reminds me of a tropical holiday.

Nude Pro-genius Treatment oil is a hydrating facial oil, rich in omegas, that smooths and calms dull skin. It’s my new favorite facial oil and my luxurious day/nighttime self-care ritual.

I’ve been using the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette all summer (I even packed it for my trip to Europe). The tones are velvety and the “soft-focus finishing powders re-create the effects of flattering light on any skin tone by concealing imperfections and minimizing the appearance of pores and fine lines”. What’s not to love about that? This is my new secret weapon for pretty skin.

Finally, I’m a bit fragrance obsessed. I received a sample of ‘Carnal Flower’, created by Frederic Malle, the iconic French fragrance maker. The top note is tuberose (my favorite) with a hint of ‘carnal opulence’. I wore this fragrance on our most recent date night and it was definitely a hit with my man.

How about you…..do you have any new beauty favorites?

Have a wonderful weekend my friends!

Although I’m loyal to the beauty products I use daily, I’m always open to new suggestions! I would particularly like to try the Rosebud Salve and I’m curious about the fragrances you mentioned too. As summer comes to an end I tend to move away from my favourite lighter, floral perfumes.

Everything looks yummy…I like to hear of the tried and true! The fragrance sounds terrific. Just indulged in Armani’s Si. I have to admit that Cate Blanchett sold me on it! :)

Pretty makeup. We’ve gone straight from 30 degrees Celsius to 9. Brrr. My skin is very confused. The Target collection looks nice but I’m becoming such a fabric snob in my old age that I’m guessing I’ll look rather than buy. Still, one lives in hope!

Ahhhh fun to hear from you Kim! I’m glad you caught my San Sebastian post-you will adore it when you visit. I think it’s a must. I’m really liking that Hourglass Palette-highly recommended. Happy September girlfriend!

Hello there, beautiful Heather! So far, all is well in the hair and skin department, but when our below zero temps hit, my HAIR especially, is going to take a hit! The first thing I need to do is to trim it, because I’m letting it grow long. WIth it trimmed, it can look a little less scraggly when the winds suck the moisture out of it!

You are lovely. Everything you share is so nurturing and filled with care. ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND! Anita
